Carragher: Liverpool don’t think Lavia is worth £50m and could have competed for Caicedo

Recently, Liverpool have made their third consecutive offer for Lavia, with a reported fixed transfer fee of £45million, plus a floating clause, according to reports from famous journalists such as Romano. However, Southampton are still holding out for the £50m asking price.

Liverpool star Carragher commented after retweeting the relevant news: “It’s a bit embarrassing. In recent years, Liverpool have been very competent in attracting reinforcements and solving problems quickly. If they don’t think the player is worth 50 million, then skip it. Also, I don’t really understand why Liverpool didn’t buy Caicedo. While it’s true that the transfer fee for Caicedo was high, the team should have made a lot of money from the transfers of Henderson and Fabinho.”
